Rajanpur: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a plan to provide agricultural land to underprivileged farmers.
Speaking at the inauguration of an electric bus service, she said that poor citizens would be allotted 3 to 5 acres of farmland, and loans would be provided for machinery and crops.
Farmers would also receive a “Kisan Card” to grow crops on the allocated land.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that Punjab’s fortunes had improved over the past two years, with the provincial government now distributing ration cards worth Rs3,000 monthly to 1.5 million people.
She criticised the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, for labelling her government as “fake”, questioning why a province under a long-standing government had suffered decline for 13 years. She said a “fake government” is one that disregards people’s wellbeing and happiness.
The CM also took aim at PTI policies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming that “awareness” provided to workers is being treated differently for ordinary citizens and the children of rulers, noting that PTI workers are “behind bars” while privileges are given to the elite.
Maryam Nawaz further said that she often tires of explaining her development schemes, contrasting her work with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM, who she claimed travels abroad instead of focusing on local issues.
