The Government of Punjab has announced three public holidays for Eid ul-Fitr, with an official notification also issued.
According to the notification, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be holidays for Eid ul-Fitr. Sunday will remain the regular weekly holiday, while Monday, March 23, has already been declared a public holiday in observance of Pakistan Day.

Meanwhile, the Government of Pakistan has declared a two-day public holiday for Eid ul-Fitr. The official announcement says that March 20 and 21, 2026, will be holidays, falling on Friday and Saturday. These holidays will apply to government offices that operate five- or six-day work weeks.
During Eid ul-Fitr, government employees will receive four days off. March 22, Sunday, will be a regular weekly holiday, while March 23 will also be a public holiday in observance of Pakistan Day.
