ISLAMABAD: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to file an appeal against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) order for fresh elections in the NA-75 Daska constituency.
In a tweet following the verdict by the Commission, Chief Minister Punjab’s aide Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the party has certain reservations in the decision regarding the Daska by-polls.
She further said that PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi will exercise his legal right and file the appeal against ECP’s decision. “We will approach the Supreme Court and appeal the decision. It is incomprehensible that a victorious candidate be prevented from representing his constituency,” she added.

Meanwhile, PTI leader and former SAPM Usman Dar also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad and discussed ECP’s fresh ruling over Daska by-election. During the meeting, PM Imran Khan ordered Dar to challenge ECP’s Daska re-polling verdict.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today ordered re-polling at all polling stations of NA-75 Sialkot-Daska over rigging. The CEP after hearing arguments had reserved the judgment.
Terming the polling null and void in the NA-75 Daska, the ECP has ordered re-polling in the constituency on March 18. ECP also announced to suspend the concerned Deputy Commissioner, District Police Officer (DPO), Assistant Commissioner and SPDO Daska over “rigging”.
