Islamabad: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has assured the House that his party will not attack the Parliament, stating that they have always advocated for strengthening the institution.
While addressing the National Assembly, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said, “We guarantee that we will not launch any attack on Parliament. In our view, Mahmood Achakzai is the Leader of the Opposition.”
During his address, the PTI Chairman added that Mahmood Achakzai’s father, Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai, sacrificed his life for democracy, yet a resolution is being sought against him.
Barrister Gohar Khan, addressing the Speaker, said, “Do not take sides with the government. People attacked us inside this House, but you failed to protect us.”
He further said, “I believed democracy meant giving space to differing opinions, but this is not the case here. We are present in this House for the sake of democracy—otherwise, we could have held our own assembly
