KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend today (Thursday) and lost the 40,000 points level gained last week.
The benchmark KSE 100-index lost 285.56 points and ended at 39,868.55 points. The index fluctuated between the range of 40,249.51 and 39,781.39 on a day which witnessed 210 companies shedding their values.
Meanwhile, the share prices of 135 companies were up and 16 remained unchanged as a total of 242,938,840 shares were traded during the session.
The lower bench KSE 30 index decreased by 139.30 points and closed at 17,283.47 points. The KMI 30 index lost 696.66 points and closed at 64,401.88 points, while the All-Share Index lost 146.82 points and closed at 28,075.02 points.
Since recording the biggest sustained profitable streak of the year in July when the KSE-100 gained 4,836.92 points and closed at 39,258.44, it has moved up by 487.09 points only this month so far.
The Unicap Modaraba saw its share price increasing by 21.43 percent, making it the biggest gainer on Thursday. The next two on the list were the Grays Leasing Limited and the TPL Corporation Limited with their share prices surging by 20.79 percent and 15.11 percent respectively.
