The Pakistan Stock Exchange on Thursday continued its winning run with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining over 700 points.
At close, the benchmark index settled at 162,936.93, an increase of 710.66 points or 0.44%.
Strong investor interest was seen across key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, fertiliser, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, and power generation and refinery stocks. Major index-heavy shares such as HUBCO, ARL, MARI, OGDC, POL, PPL, FFC, MEBL, UBL, and NBP traded in positive territory.
On Wednesday, the PSX had also closed higher despite lower overall trading volumes and mixed market breadth, with the KSE-100 rising 1,291.15 points (0.8%) to 162,226.28, reflecting continued investor confidence in the market.
Meanwhile, Pakistan secured USD 2.29 billion in foreign assistance during the first four months of fiscal year 2025-26, covering July through October.
This inflow comprised a mix of multilateral and bilateral loans, various grants, and investments made under the Naya Pakistan Certificates. Fresh data issued by the Economic Affairs Division highlights the composition and scale of these financial contributions.
Multilateral grants totaled USD 26.80 million in the four-month period, with USD 5.27 million received in October alone. Among international institutions, the IBRD emerged as the largest grant provider with USD 15.40 million, followed by IDA with USD 8.18 million, and IFAD contributing USD 2.72 million.
