LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi have won the toss and decided to bat first against Lahore Qalandars in the last match before the playoffs of Pakistan Super League (PSL) seventh edition at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Both teams are in top form and have already secured the playoff spot. Lahore Qalandars currently stands on the second spot with twelve points is likely to end up in the top two spots of the table.
Zalmi, who are currently at the third position with ten points, still have an outside chance to jump ahead of Qalandars and end up at the second spot.
Zalmi needs to win this match by a huge margin of 110 runs to get two shots at the final of HBL PSL 7, but as things stand it is most likely that Multan Sultans will play Lahore Qalandars in Qualifier one and Peshawar Zalmi will have to take the long way to make it the final by facing Islamabad in the Eliminator.
Lahore and Peshawar both teams have lost key international players before the end stage of the tournament, Qalandars will have to play without star leg spinner Rashid Khan whereas Zalmi will miss the services of Liam Livingstone and Sherfane Rutherford.
