RAWALPINDI: The Nanbai Association on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha has increased the price of roti of Rs. 8 to Rs. 10 and naan from Rs. 12 to Rs. 15.
Following the hiked prices of the LPG, the Nanbai Association increased the price of roti and naan by Rs. 2 and Rs. 3 respectively. The prices of Rotis apparently hiked due to lack of flour in the market as four flour mills in Rawalpindi have been closed.
The chairman of NanBai Association said that earlier the weight of a sack was 80 kg but now it has been reduced by five kg and the price has been increased by Rs. 2500 per sack.
According to the association, the flour crisis will start after the next Eid-ul-Azha. Sources said that the Department of Food and Agriculture was not providing a timely supply of wheat to the flour mill owners due to which four mills have been closed in Rawalpindi and another 50 flour mills would be closed in the next few days.
