ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has directed the authorities to expedite the pace of work on ongoing development projects in the metropolis.
During a meeting with Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail and Chief Organizer, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Saifullah Khan Niazi, President Alvi asserted that the development of Karachi is directly related to the development of Pakistan.
The President directed Imran Ismail to prepare a comprehensive plan for other development projects in Karachi. Dr Arif Alvi assured that the federal government was making all-out efforts to play its role regarding the development needs of Karachi, adding that the solutions to problems of Karachi will be addressed.
President Alvi stressed the need for the participation of all political stakeholders to address people’s problems especially the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The governor briefed the President about the political situation in Sindh and development projects being undertaken in Karachi.
During the meeting, they also discussed the political situation of the country and forthcoming elections. The President underlined the need for holding the upcoming elections in a fair and transparent manner. He said that transparent elections would promote a successful democratic system in Pakistan.
The President congratulated the governor over the gift of 52 modern fire tenders for Karachi which would make the city’s fire emergency system more efficient and responsive.
