RAWALPINDI: Despite registration of FIR, police have failed to take action against an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) involved in the rape of his adopted daughter in Rawalpindi Wah Cantt.
According to sources, an Assistant Sub-Inspector Taskeen Shah rapped his adopted daughter in the Lalazar area within the limits of Wah Cantt police station of Taxila. Sources said the police official adopted a woman Asma Bibi who approaches the police for seeking help in a domestic dispute.
While talking to MM News the woman said, “I am a resident of Basti Lalazar. I had lodged a complaint at the Wah Cantt police station over a domestic dispute, which was investigated by ASI Taskeen Shah, who assured her to resolve the matter soon.”
Asma said that Taskeen Shah used to call her to the police station at different times. Once he offered the woman to get married as well as illicit relation, which she dined.
The victim further said the police officer later called her to his office and raped her at gunpoint and also made nude videos and pictures.
Later she filed a petition against the official at magistrate No. 3, Wah Cantt, which was marked to Sub-Inspector Saeed Kayani. Taskeen presented a fake marriage certificate to the investigating police officer.
It was learned from Asma that her fake marriage certificate had been prepared and submitted to the magistrate. No legal action was taken against the influential police official. The woman later approached the Wah Cantt area magistrate police station after which an FIR was registered.
However, despite the registration of FIR, no action has been taken against the accused Taskeen Shah. Asma alleged the ASI was not deliberately arrested and was transferred to Fateh Jang.
“Taskin Shah and his supporters are threatening me with dire consequences.” The woman appealed to the higher authorities to take notice of the case and provide justice.
