Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have agreed to form a coalition government in the Centre and Punjab as results of some constituencies continue to trickle in on the third day.
As per details, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif met PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari and invited them to work together for Pakistan.
Shehbaz met the PPP top leaders at the residence of Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He discussed the future government formation with Zardari and also conveyed Nawaz Sharif’s message, said the sources.
It should be noted that independent candidates have won 99 seats in the National Assembly, while the Muslim League (N) and People’s Party are in the second and third positions with 72 and 53 seats respectively.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has emerged as the third-strongest party in the National Assembly by winning 17 seats. JUI and Q-League have won 3 seats each. IPP won 2 seats.
In Punjab, PML-N has emerged as the biggest party with 139 seats out of 297 general seats while PPP has also won 10 seats and IPP has won one seat. The Independent candidates have won 135 seats. PML-8 has won the seat.
