MOSCOW: Prime Minister Imran Khan has arrived in Russia for a two-day visit, where progress is expected for the development of Pakistan-Russia bilateral relations.
A one-on-one meeting with President Vladimir Putin will be held today. PM Imran Khan arrived in the Russian capital Moscow last night for a two-day visit where he was presented a guard of honor.
The prime minister received a warm welcome on the red carpet at Moscow Airport. Anthems of both the countries were also played during the guard of honour.
During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, PM Imran Khan will discuss Afghanistan, Islamophobia, and the security situation in the region, as well as other important issues. Pak-Russia bilateral cooperation will also be discussed.

It should be noted that the prime minister’s visit to Russia is important in the sense that the Russia-Ukraine conflict has become a matter of concern to the international community. President Vladimir Putin has woken up US officials by announcing the recognition of Ukraine’s separatist territories.
The US government has been reluctant to comment on the PM’s visit to Russia. “We have briefed Pakistan on US efforts in the Ukraine conflict,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said.
