Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed interest in increasing its investments in Pakistan. This follows a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz welcomed President Nahyan at Rahim Yar Khan airport, where the UAE president is set to spend some private time. During their meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening economic, political, and cultural ties, according to an official statement.
The discussions covered a broad range of topics, including economic collaboration, regional stability, climate change, and the promotion of mutual interests on the global stage. President Nahyan underscored the UAE’s strong interest in working with Pakistan in key sectors such as mining, minerals, and agriculture.
He also said the positive trajectory of Pakistan’s economy under Prime Minister Shehbaz’s leadership, describing it as a promising foundation for increased bilateral investment and cooperation.
In his remarks, President Nahyan reiterated the UAE’s dedication to deepening its partnership with Pakistan, emphasizing the significance of fostering people-to-people connections and shared prosperity. Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the UAE’s consistent support during challenging times, particularly in the areas of humanitarian aid and development assistance.
