BANNU: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called on Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign if he cannot protect citizens from terrorism.
While addressing a PDM rally in Bannu on Wednesday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman strongly condemned the massacre of Hazara community members in Machh, saying that it was the biggest proof of unrest in the country.
The PDM chief said that there is no law and order in the country, the government has failed to protect its people. “Militants slaughter citizens whenever they want and the government is powerless, we strongly condemn the Machh incident,” he added.
He said the PTI government doesn’t realize the kind of issues the people are facing their hatred for a system that deprives them of meals. “Why the army was still present in the tribal parts of the country. Is terrorism not being ended so there is a justification for the army to stay there?” he questioned.
The army was spread everywhere in Balochistan Rehman alleging this was cited as a security requirement.“I want to say in clear words that until the forces remain in the country’s civilian areas, peace cannot be flourished,” he added.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman further said that PDM leadership has shown the nation the path to freedom and democracy. The public has woken up to rid themselves of this government.
Addressing the rally earlier, senior PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said that there is unrest in the country today. For the past four days, Hazara community members are sitting on the road with the dead bodies of their relatives but Imran Khan, in his stubbornness, is sitting in Islamabad.
He said that if Imran Khan was concerned for the public, he would come and heal the wounds of the Hazara community. He was selected, not elected but now he is also rejected.
