Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Friday announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Islamabad and Beijing, with operations set to begin from July 3.
The move restores a key air corridor between Pakistan and China, further strengthening long-standing bilateral ties.
The revival of the Islamabad–Beijing–Islamabad route comes amid rising demand from students, business travelers, tourists, and families seeking faster and more convenient travel options between the two countries.
The route is particularly important for the large number of Pakistani and Chinese students studying in each other’s countries. Educational institutions, student groups, and travel industry stakeholders have welcomed the development, calling it timely ahead of the upcoming academic session and peak travel season.
Tourists and families planning summer travel are also expected to benefit from reduced travel time and greater scheduling flexibility.
Travel agencies have already reported increased interest following the announcement, reflecting strong demand for direct connectivity. PIA reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in tourism, trade, education, and cultural exchange.
