ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued a travel advisory for passengers following widespread road closures between Lahore and Islamabad, warning of possible flight delays due to traffic disruptions.
According to a spokesperson for the national carrier, the closures caused by protests by a religious group have made it difficult for airline staff and passengers to reach airports, leading to delays in several scheduled flights.
PIA has urged passengers to plan their travel accordingly and to arrive at the airport at least four to five hours before departure to avoid inconvenience.
The airline noted that major routes, including GT Road and motorways, have been affected — particularly around Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
Additionally, the Chenab toll plaza in Wazirabad has been blocked with containers, further intensifying traffic congestion in the region.
Due to these disruptions, many travellers have opted for alternative transport routes to reach airports and railway stations.
PIA has advised passengers to stay updated on the latest traffic conditions and take necessary precautions while travelling to the airport.
