Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued a passenger advisory in light of ongoing disruptions to flight operations caused by heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, which have already resulted in 31 fatalities on Pakistani soil.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed that security concerns have impacted operations at Jinnah International Airport, with several flights facing delays, diversions, or cancellations. The disruption is attributed to temporary restrictions imposed on specific air corridors as a precautionary measure.
“In response to the current security situation, certain flight paths have been restricted to safeguard passengers and airline assets,” the spokesperson said. “Alternative arrangements, including accommodations and support services, are being provided to affected passengers.”
PIA has urged all travelers to confirm the status of their flights through official channels before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience. The airline reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and is coordinating closely with relevant authorities to manage the situation and resume normal operations as conditions allow.
Earlier, India launched a devastating strike on several Pakistani cities, killing at least 31 people, including civilians, and destroying religious sites. The most severe attacks occurred in Muridke and Bahawalpur, intensifying tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and sparking fears of a broader conflict.
