Police have arrested a female social media influencer who had announced plans to open a dance club in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Peshawar police, the woman was taken into custody for allegedly using social media to promote obscenity and encourage immoral behaviour.
The suspect, identified as Sonia Shah, wife of Dadu Shah, was arrested from Gulbahar No. 4, Ijazabad.
Police said the influencer had claimed in a viral video that she was planning to open a dance club in Peshawar.
The video reportedly contained the use of inappropriate language, which authorities say is in violation of social values and the law.
A case has been registered against the arrested influencer and an investigation is under way.
Police officials stated that action against individuals spreading obscenity, disorder and moral corruption has been intensified.
Authorities further clarified that, on the directions of senior officers, the TikToker was arrested for using unethical language, with the assistance of women police personnel from Gulbahar police station.
