Veteran Bollywood actress and politician Jaya Bachchan has ignited a feud with the paparazzi, expressing her strong disdain for being photographed, particularly by photojournalists whom she described as wearing “dirty drainpipe tight pants” and lacking “training” or proper education.
Citing her father as a respected journalist, she questioned the background and passing comments of these mobile-wielding individuals, despite being a product of the media herself.

In response, the paparazzi community has strongly denounced her language and opted for a boycott against the entire Bachchan family, specifically mentioning the promotions for her grandson Agastya Nanda’s upcoming film, Ikkis.
Popular paparazzi like Pallav Paliwal and Manav Manglani highlighted the tireless work of paps, calling her comments “unfortunate.”
Paliwal reminded her that paps are the ones covering her husband Amitabh Bachchan’s weekly fan meet. Manglani suggested she hasn’t adapted to the digital era.
Varinder Chawla shared that paps often respect celebrity requests, citing instances like not filming Ranbir Kapoor’s daughter Raha.
He also mentioned protecting Amitabh Bachchan in the past by not sharing an instance where the star shouted at a fan. Chawla concluded by advising his colleagues to protect their self-respect and boycott the family’s coverage. The Bachchan family has yet to issue a response.
