Spiritual healing is a form of alternative treatment which has been misunderstood in our society along with astrology and palm reading.
Rabia Syed is a young intuitive clairvoyant, reiki master, hypnotherapist, crystal therapist, tarot reader and color healer. She has seven years of experience and training with world-renowned spiritual teachers and Sufi mystics.
We speak to her on how she incorporates spiritual healing for a healthy and positive life and how to gain an insight into our personality, future events and even the purpose of life.
Why did you choose this profession?
This started since I was young. Many children have the ability to sense things and have flashes, hear voices or vibration either as a dream or you feel earthquakes. I had this ability but I never realized it. This took many years to understand that it a sign or symbol.
How did your parents react?
This a stigma attached to it. Often when we speak to our parents, they do not understand it believing their child thinks too much or lives in world of their own imagination. Once they realize, they think it is a curse and hide it so we need more awareness. There is more understanding in the West where I spent my childhood but often people have asked me what I do exactly.
Did you face any challenges in making this a profession?
The biggest challenge was me myself. I was confused whether was a good thing or a curse. I would have negative vibes that I might have an accident if I go out. So it was challenging to convert it into a profession without the proper guidance and you keep on struggling.
What services are people most interested in?
I have lived in Canada for twelve years and there is clientele in both countries. In Canada, people are more concerned about work issues and relationships, while here in Pakistan they are more worried that things are not moving forward.
Girls are more concerned about relationship issues. I ensure to ease the heaviness in their life and reduce the burden. I often advice them to accept reality and heal themselves.
Among my client, girls are mostly interested in asking about relationships, their marriages and boyfriends. Boys are not interested in asking about girls but rather jobs, money, business and careers. There are some for health reasons while others are spiritual seekers.
What is the difference between palm and tarot card reading?
There are lines on the palm of our hand. Our destinies are written over them which change over time. Palm reading helps us know our predestination but not minor details. For example, it can tell your emotional life, your career, how many times you will get married and how much will you travel in life.
Any reading whether it is palm or tarot is based on our intuition. All readers may not the same ability. With regard to tarot card reading, it involves images and is based on energy. The reader will shuffle cards and tell your life story based on their intuition, concentration and meditation.
What services do you offer and how important is spiritual healing?
I do Reiki. This is a Japanese way of healing. I believe in healing as I think the biggest sickness is being let down, nervous and stressed and Reiki completely realigns your life.
I also perform meditations and hypnotherapy. I have started Sufi meditation in which we use the 99 names of Allah and the effects are seen right away. These are just a tool and I would advice everyone to dedicate ten minutes every day to spiritual heal themselves.
Do you think colours reflect our personality?
Our body has seven nerve centres called chakra. These are based on seven colours of the rainbow. We are all energetic beings and colours have importance. If you are emotionally hurt, it means you lack green colour and should add it to your life. This will make you feel lighter. If you are lack self-love then you need light pink.
It is commonly taught in psychology that colour affects your behaviour and subconscious mind. Black colour has two extremes. You should not wear it when you are depressed as it absorbs energy but has significance in many cultures.
Why do you think many people don’t believe in spiritual healing?
In Pakistan, we believe in the nazar (evil eye) then why do we not believe in this? Nazar is also a form of energy and form of a negative vibe. We should have an open mind as it involves both positive and negative vibes.
Many people are confused and called it haraam if they are not satisfied with the result. People should follow their religious beliefs and should follow only if they are convinced. This is nothing but an intuition which brings us close to the unseen.
What is the scope of a psychic in Pakistan?
I understand there are challenges but we are growing with support from young people. It is popular in many countries like Turkey where people believe in the teachings of Rumi and Shams Tabraiz. We have Sufi saints in Pakistan but unfortunately, we have stopped following them.
I am hopeful but I agree that it still remains controversial in our society. We should use this as a tool as the future is hands of God and it is only our intuition.
