In the final match of the tri-nation series, the Sri Lankan team collapsed for 114 runs against the destructive bowling performance of Pakistan’s bowlers.
In the match being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first.
Sri Lanka had an impressive start, scoring 84 runs for the loss of two wickets in the first ten overs.
Midway through the innings, it appeared that Sri Lanka could reach 170 runs, but they ultimately managed to score only 114.
Credit for the excellent performance goes to Pakistan’s spinners, who restricted the scoring rate in the middle overs and collectively took six wickets for 52 runs in 12 overs.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz took three wickets each, Abrar Ahmed bagged two, while Saim and Salman Ali Agha picked up one wicket each. Sri Lanka’s Mishara was the top scorer with 59 runs.
The schedule for Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka has been announced, with three T20 matches set to be played in Dambulla.
One change was made to the national squad: Shaheen Shah Afridi replaced Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Speaking before the match, Salman Ali Agha said that this is not the usual Rawalpindi pitch, but a total of 160 to 170 runs is achievable.
He added that the team only needs to play good cricket, as it has the ability to defeat any opponent.
He further stated that there has been one change in today’s lineup: Shaheen has returned to the team, while Wasim Jr. is not playing.
