ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces are reported to have launched counter-attacks inside Afghanistan’s Jalalabad, destroying a major ammunition depot and drone storage facility, thus dealing a significant blow to militant capabilities in the region.
Reports cited security sources as saying that the latest strikes come in direct response to escalating hostilities. Security sources confirm that both the Afghan Taliban and the extremist faction Fitna al-Kharij have suffered heavy losses in recent days. The counter-offensive is described as “devastating and precise,” aimed at dismantling the infrastructure that enables insurgent operations across the border.
The operation, it may be added here, was launched earlier this year after repeated cross-border aggression by the Afghan Taliban regime-backed TTP elements. Pakistan’s security forces initiated the campaign to neutralize militant strongholds inside Afghan territory, particularly in areas where attacks were being coordinated against Pakistani border posts and civilian settlements.O
“Operation Ghazb-ul-Haq reflects Pakistan’s determination to give a befitting reply to aggression from the Afghan Taliban regime. Officials emphasize that the campaign will continue until militant networks are dismantled and cross-border attacks are decisively curbed”, said the sources, adding that the ongoing strikes in Jalalabad marked a critical phase in the operation, underscoring Islamabad’s resolve to safeguard national security and regional stability.
