Pakistani businesswoman Huma Fakhar and philanthropist Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib have won awards at the prestigious United Kingdom-based Global Women Awards ceremony held in London Saturday night.
While Dr. Saqib received the Global Man of the Decade award in recognition of his exceptional efforts, Huma Fakhar received the Global Woman Inspiration Award in recognition of her inspiring achievements.
“Pakistan is a story of woman courage, an unfolding story,” Fakhar said, thanking the organisers of the award for the acknowledgement.
The successful feat achieved by the two Pakistanis marked a significant achievement for the nation, as both nominees emerged as winners owing to their work and its impact on the global stage.
Ms Fakhar was nominated for the Global Woman Inspiration Award in the UK last month for her efforts in the country’s commercial and nonprofit sectors.
The Global Woman Club was responsible for organising the award, and on June 17 they revealed the nominations. The award ceremony itself was scheduled for July 17 in London.
