ATHENS: Pakistan’s youngest tennis star Haniya Minhas has secured a bronze medal at the IMG Future Stars Invitational Tournament, in Greece.
According to details, the 12-year-old tennis star competed alongside Austria’s Anna Pircher in quarter final of IMG Future Stats event in TATOI Club in Athens, Greece.
The tournament consists of the best under-12s girls and boys from across the globe as IMG attempts to unearth the next generation of stars. In total, 48 of the best under-12s from around the world competed in the tournament; 24 boys and 24 girls.
Haniya has thanked the Bilquis and Abdul Razak Dawood (BARD) Foundation for supporting her in her journey. BARD Foundation enabled Haniya to travel and train internationally so that she can participate in Tennis Tournaments to get a world ranking.
Earlier, Haniya won two tournaments in Tajikistan without losing a set and won the Asian Championship in Pakistan. She is considered to be the highest-ranked tennis player from Pakistan, in the Asian Tennis Championships, in 14 and under age category for both boys and girls.
