KARACHI: The Karachi Vocational Training Centre (KVTC) and the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC) have partnered to launch Pakistan’s first café, “Khudee,” exclusively operated by KVTC’s differently-abled trainees.
According to KVTC’s statement, the café’s opening marks a significant step toward empowering these individuals and sets a new standard for diversity in the workforce.
At the inaugural ceremony, Sindh Chief Minister expressed his appreciation, saying, “KVTC has been a beacon of hope for the differently-abled community, offering vocational training programs that empower them.” He stressed that KVTC’s students are equipped with practical skills, particularly in culinary arts, to meet the demands of professional environments.
The CM noted the remarkable progress made by these students, who are breaking barriers with the right support and opportunities.
He highlighted that the launch of Khudee — Bakery & Café is more than just a café; it is a milestone and a powerful example of what can be accomplished when individuals are given the chance to thrive.
