Pakistan’s auto industry showed a notable recovery in October 2025, with sales of cars, vans, pickups, and SUVs rising to 17,333 units — up 32% year-on-year (YoY) and 1% month-on-month (MoM), according to the latest industry data.
Topline Securities’ analyst Maeesha Sohail attributed the YoY increase to macroeconomic stability, the launch of new vehicle models, lower interest rates, easing inflation, and improved consumer confidence.
Month-on-month sales remained largely unchanged, primarily due to an 18% decline in sales by Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC).
The automaker recently discontinued models including Ravi, Bolan, Every VX, and Wagon R, leading to sales drops of 17% in Swift, 84% in Ravi, and 28% in Every, while Bolan’s sales have been halted since May 2025.
During the first four months of FY2025-26, total automobile sales surged 46% to 59,600 units, compared to 40,693 units sold during the same period last year.
Indus Motor company leads monthly growth
Indus Motor Company (IMC) posted the strongest MoM growth in October, with sales rising 44% to 4,529 units.
Sales of Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross jumped 41% MoM and 78% YoY to 3,742 units, while Fortuner and IMV sales grew 58% MoM and 83% YoY to 787 units.
In the first four months of FY26, IMC’s cumulative sales reached 14,418 units, marking a 66% YoY increase.
Hyundai Nishat posts strongest annual growth
Hyundai Nishat Motors recorded the highest YoY increase among all automakers, with sales up 82% to 1,086 units, driven largely by strong demand for the Tucson and Elantra models. However, MoM sales dipped 8%.
Between July and October 2025, Hyundai’s total sales rose 81% to 4,698 units.
Honda Atlas sales climb 72% YoY
Honda Atlas Cars Ltd. (HACL) reported a 72% YoY and 13% MoM increase in sales to 2,247 units in October, supported by robust demand for its City and Civic models.
During the first four months of FY26, Honda’s cumulative sales rose 54% to 7,487 units.
Pak Suzuki sales decline 18% month-on-month
Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) saw an 18% MoM decline in October sales to 7,403 units, primarily due to reduced sales of Swift, Ravi, and Every models.
However, the company’s YoY sales rose 1%, while its cumulative four-month sales increased 33% to 27,234 units.
