Pakistan’s rising squash star Asim Khan has successfully qualified for the 2026 PSA World Championships after clinching victory at the Asian Qualifier event in Hong Kong.
In a gripping final, Asim defeated Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah in a closely contested five-game match, winning 3–2 after an intense 82-minute battle.
The match scores were 3-11, 11-13, 11-9, 11-3, 12-10, reflecting a remarkable comeback by the Pakistani player after losing the first two games.
With this victory, Asim Khan secured his place in the prestigious world championship, scheduled to take place in May 2026 in Giza, Egypt.
Currently ranked among Pakistan’s top squash players, Asim has been in impressive form. Earlier this year, he captured his 12th PSA title at the Washington Open in January 2026, further cementing his status as one of the country’s leading athletes in the sport.
His latest achievement marks another milestone in Pakistan’s squash resurgence, bringing renewed hope for success on the global stage.
