Pakistani’s fondness for tea did not get affected despite the economic downfall. According to the statistics released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (PBS) , an import of food worth Rs. 1,838 billion has been made in 10 months, in spite of dollar shortening.
According to Federal Bureau of Statistics (PBS) report has said that Pakistani citizens have consumed only tea worth over Rs110 billion during in 10 months.
The report further says that palm oil worth Rs730 billion was imported, and Rs251.61 worth of wheat.
Pulses worth Rs195.63 billion were imported, as per the PBS report. The import bill also features soybean worth Rs61 billion, and spices worth Rs30.54 billion.
The Pakistanis’ love for tea is growing each day. Tea is among the top five food items that Pakistan imports. As the country imported tea during the fiscal year 2021-22, Rs13 billion more than the previous year, revealed the budget documents.
