LAHORE: A Pakistani model was found dead at her residence in Lahore’s Defence B area under mysterious circumstances, the city’s police said on Sunday.
According to details, the 29-year-old model, identified as Nayab Nadeem, was strangulated to death by unknown suspects at her house in DHA Phase-V. Nayab lived alone at her residence and she wasn’t married.
A case has been registered on the complaint of her stepbrother Mohammad Ali, who stated that he had found her body lying on the floor when he came to visit her.
Citing initial investigations, Defence B Police Station SHO Nayyar Nisar said police suspected that the model was strangulated, adding that there were marks on her neck. Meanwhile, the Forensic experts had also arrived at the murder site to collect samples.
The complainant said he also found a net of her bathroom window broken. He added he suspected that his sister was unjustly killed and her murderers should be brought to book. Ali said he had been regularly visiting her sister’s house for a year to inquire about her well-being.
The police informed that mobile phone of the 29-year-old is missing, however, there are no signs of a robbery. “The model’s body has been sent for post-mortem,” the police added.
Earlier in May, a Pakistani-origin British woman was found dead at her rented house in Lahore’s DHA. Identified as Maya, she was shot in the head. She had arrived from the UK some two months back where her family was settled.
