WASHINGTON: The Pakistani delegation has reached the United States capital where important issues related to the health sector will be discussed to participate in the first Pakistan-US Health Dialogue.
According to the details, a healthy dialogue between the two countries is being organized for the first time in Washington today to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and America in the field of health.
A 4-member delegation of Pakistan led by Federal Minister of National Health Abdul Qadir Patel has arrived in Washington to participate in the Health Dialogue. Pakistani Ambassador Sardar Masood Khan and other diplomatic officials are also part of the delegation.
Today, the US is hosting a Pakistani delegation at the US State Department. Pakistan and the US plan to hold day-long talks on a comprehensive agenda for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
Officials of the Federal Ministry of Health and other experts of Pakistan will also participate practically in various meetings. Participants will also discuss important issues in 7 sessions of Health Dialogue.
Among the issues that will be discussed in the health department are the establishment of the Pakistan Center for Disease Control, global health security, immunization for children, coronavirus, and maternal and child health.
During this time, non-communicable diseases will also be discussed. Officials said that that the Health Dialogue is an example of the close relationship between Pakistan and the US, while the 75th anniversary of the relationship between the two countries is also being celebrated.
