The Pakistan Ju-Jitsu team has achieved a historic victory at the South Asian Championship 2026, winning 22 medals.
According to reports, the national team secured an outstanding performance at the South Asian Championship held in Negombo, winning 12 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals, bringing their total medal tally to 22. Several Pakistani athletes even faced each other in final rounds of the competition.
Young athletes from Pakistan, particularly Zunaira Zulfiqar Ali, Sundas Ali, Rishal Khan, Muhammad Abdullah Ali, and Ibad-ur-Rehman, delivered exceptional performances in the Under-16 and Under-18 categories.
In the adult Duo categories, M. Ali Rashid and M. Yousuf Ali won gold in the Duo Men Classic event. In the mixed Duo category, Ali Rashid and Isra Wasim secured gold, while in the Duo Women Show, Kainat Arif and Isra Wasim won silver. Rishal Khan and Abdullah earned silver in another mixed event. Kainat Arif also claimed gold in individual events, while Rishal Khan secured silver.
In youth events, Muhammad Abdullah Ali and Sundas Ali won gold in multiple Duo Show categories, while Sundas Ali and Zunaira Zulfiqar also secured gold and bronze medals in different pairings. Other notable results include multiple gold and silver medals won by various combinations of young athletes across Duo Show events.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ali Rashid, Isra Wasim, Abdullah, and Rishal Khan also added gold, silver, and bronze medals across different categories, further strengthening Pakistan’s overall dominance in the championship.
