Pakistan has urged the United Nations that the Security Council must take decisive action against Israeli aggression in Gaza, as reported by national media on Saturday.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, while addressing a session, stated that Israel has expanded its ongoing genocide in Gaza to the West Bank. He highlighted that due to the Israeli blockade, more than 90% of Gaza’s population is suffering from hunger.
Pakistan warned that if this brutal war is not stopped, the worst nature of powerful and aggressive states will be exposed. The principles of the UN Charter, designed to prevent aggression and war, will be shattered, and the world will turn into a “Hobbesian hell,” where only conflict and destruction will prevail.
Pakistan called on the UN Security Council and the international community not to remain mere spectators of Israel’s ongoing genocide. It emphasized that Israel feels completely immune to consequences and believes that the Security Council will fail to enforce any resolution against it.
During the Security Council session on Gaza’s humanitarian situation, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Munir Akram, delivered the country’s national statement, strongly condemning Israel’s latest aggression, including renewed bombings on Gaza and the systematic blockade of humanitarian aid.
Ambassador Munir Akram stressed that Israel has explicitly declared its intent to continue its aggression without regard for its impact on Palestinian civilians.
He also pointed out that Israel’s large-scale military operations have expanded to Jenin, Nur Shams, Tulkarm, and the Jenin refugee camp, leading to the largest displacement of populations since 1967.
The Pakistani envoy stated that the daily military raids, settler attacks, and illegal land annexations are part of a systematic plan to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from the West Bank.
