Indian sports streaming platform Fancode has ceased all broadcasts of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Occupied Kashmir.
Fancode, which held exclusive rights to stream PSL matches in India, had aired the tournament’s first 13 games. However, following the attack, the platform has removed all listings for upcoming matches and deleted previously available content related to the PSL. Hindustan Times
The suspension is expected to significantly impact the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), whose international viewership figures will likely decline as a result of the platform’s withdrawal.
The move comes amid escalating diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reaffirmed its policy of not participating in bilateral cricket with Pakistan, citing the Pahalgam incident as further justification for its longstanding stance.
In the aftermath of the attack, India has implemented a series of political and diplomatic measures. These include suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, expelling Pakistani nationals with a 48-hour deadline, reducing diplomatic presence at its High Commission in Islamabad, and temporarily closing the Wagah border crossing.
