Pakistan’s street football team will participate in the Norway Cup — the largest tournament in the world for people between 10 and 19 years old.
The sport extravaganza will start on July 29, 2023, in Oslo, Norway.
Earlier, Pakistan finished in second place with an impressive performance in the Street Child World Cup in Doha, Qatar, last year.
Despite going undefeated throughout the competition, they were defeated by Egypt in the championship game (4-3) on penalties.
Pakistan’s forward Tufail Shinwari was the best player of the tournament scoring 13 goals. Prior to his team’s entry into the knockout stage, the 16-year-old attracted attention by scoring back-to-back hat-tricks against Qatar and Bosnia.
Following its group games, India was eliminated from the competition.
Street Child United, a UK-based non-profit, organized the 11-day competition, which featured 28 teams from 24 nations.
