According to the PM’s spokesperson for foreign media, Mosharraf Zaidi, Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting.
According to a few diplomats privy to the norms of such parleys, the presence of only the Prime Minister, Deputy PM/Foreign Minister, and the Army Chief alongside the Saudi Crown Prince suggests the conversation likely touched on security, defense cooperation, and regional strategy — matters not suited for a larger delegation or open press coverage.
Zaidi stated on X that at the outset, the Prime Minister conveyed his respectful regards and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and expressed profound appreciation for the Kingdom’s longstanding support to Pakistan.

He added that the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia “in these challenging times.” Both leaders held an in-depth exchange of views on recent regional developments and agreed to work together for peace and stability. The Prime Minister assured the Crown Prince that Pakistan would “always stand firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” in pursuit of their mutual desire for regional peace.
It is pertinent to mention that since the outbreak of the February 28, 2026, US-led war against Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have engaged in multiple high-level interactions. Notably, Riyadh invoked its Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement with Islamabad in response to Iranian missile and drone strikes. The pact was formalized in September last year.
