Unprovoked firing was carried out from the Afghan side at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, to which the Pakistan Army gave a strong response. Several Afghan soldiers were killed in the Pakistani forces’ retaliatory action, and due to heavy losses, many Afghan posts were evacuated.
According to security sources, Afghan forces opened unprovoked fire at multiple locations along the Pak-Afghan border, including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha. The aim was also to facilitate the crossing of Khawarij (militant formations) across the border.
Security sources said that the alert posts of the Pakistan Army responded with full force and intensity. The Pakistan Army immediately and effectively targeted several Afghan posts in a strong counterattack.
According to security sources, aerial resources and drones were also used to target the hideouts of ISIS and Khawarij. Afghan posts failed to provide cover fire to the militants, and their formations were dispersed.
Due to Pakistan’s timely action, several Afghan border posts were destroyed, dozens of Afghan soldiers and militants were killed, and Taliban fighters fled, leaving behind bodies and posts. Only those Afghan posts that were assisting militants and being used against Pakistan were targeted.
The Pakistan Army also destroyed Afghan camps at Doran Mela and Turkamanzai. In the Baramcha sector, the Pakistan Army gave a crushing response to Afghan forces. The Afghan “Shaheedan” post was damaged, and multiple casualties were reported.
