ISLAMABAD: The coronavirus has claimed four lives in Pakistan, bringing the total number to 6,298.
The global pandemic COVID-19 has affected 296,149 people in the country. At least 300 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan in the past 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, the number of coronavirus active cases across the country has dropped to 8,881. In the last 24 hours, 20,882 tests were performed. The total number of coronavirus tests across the country is 2,642,028.
There are facilities for the coronavirus patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for the coronavirus patients in hospitals is 1,920.
The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 129,348. In Punjab, 96,769 cases were reported, 36,044 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,869 in Balochistan, 15,625 in Islamabad, 2,298 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 2,896 in Gilgit.
The coronavirus has caused 2,198 deaths in Punjab and 2,401 in Sindh. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 1,250, Islamabad 175, Balochistan 141, Gilgit-Baltistan 67, and Azad Kashmir 62 deaths from the coronavirus.
Moreover, the government has recently introduced a ‘mini smart lockdown’ strategy, under which, instead of an entire street or a shopping centre, only those houses or shops where infections are reported will be sealed.
