Pakistan receives record $41.6 billion in remittances during FY26

Pakistan received a record $41.6 billion in overseas workers’ remittances during FY26, marking a 9% increase from the previous fiscal year, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

In June 2026, remittance inflows stood at $3.475 billion.

Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances during the month, with overseas Pakistanis sending $830 million. The inflows increased by 1% year-on-year from $823 million in June 2025 but declined by 19% month-on-month from $1.025 billion recorded in May 2026.

Remittances from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) increased by 10% year-on-year to $792 million in June 2026, compared to $717 million in the same month last year. However, inflows fell by 21% compared to the previous month.

The United Kingdom contributed $515 million in remittances during June 2026, down 20% from $645 million in May.

Remittances from the United States stood at $297 million in June, declining 15% month-on-month from $349 million in May.

Meanwhile, inflows from European Union (EU) countries amounted to $415 million during the month, reflecting an 11% monthly decline from $466 million recorded in May.
