RAWALPINDI: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid has claimed that Pakistan is not on the agenda of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board meeting.
His comments came after reports that a staff level agreement with the world body was about to be reached around soem time next week as Pakistan received $500 million as part of the $1.3 billion facility approved by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the AML Chief said politicians were engaged in conspiracies of audio and video leaks while the 90-days caretaker Chief Minister inaugurating 9-years development projects.
Sheikh Rashid criticized the government, saying it imposed Rs3.5 per unit surcharge on electricity, and appreciated China for assisting cash-strapped Pakistan as the all-weather friend had rolled over $1.3 billion loan for Pakistan, a move that would help raise foreign exchange reserves.

He said the national kitty had nothing to facilitate poor Hajj pilgrims as the government Hajj quota had been opened for those who would pay in dollars.
He further said the survival of Pakistan only lied with holding elections in the country, and that
any attempts to evade elections would create a room for doctrine of necessity. He said President Arif Alvi has announced April 30 as date for elections in Punjab, adding that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had held consultation but it was yet to announce the decision.
