Pakistan issues memorial postage stamps to Sikh pilgrims

LAHORE: The government of Pakistan has issued memorial postage stamps to mark the 550th birth anniversary of the founder of the Sikh religion, Guru Nanak.
The postage stamps, which will be worth Rs8 and could be used commonly, will have the image of Gurdwara Janam Asthan.

Previously, a memorial coin worth Rs50 was also issued by the government to mark Guru Nanak Devji’s birth anniversary.
Sikh pilgrims visiting Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib this month to celebrate the anniversary of their religious founder.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally inaugurate the corridor on 9th November, three days before the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak.
Last month, India and Pakistan signed an agreement to open the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib without a visa.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally inaugurate the corridor on Saturday, just ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak on 12th November.
