The Directors General of Military Operations (DG MOs) of Pakistan and India have agreed to maintain the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) during a hotline contact.
This was the third communication on Thursday between Pakistan’s Major General Kashif Abdullah and India’s Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, during which both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability along the Line of Control.
During the dialogue, both sides also agreed on additional confidence-building measures to further strengthen the ongoing ceasefire. Emphasis was placed by both parties on restraint and the importance of maintaining regional stability.
This contact also confirms the points agreed upon in the initial communication held earlier this week. The ceasefire agreement was reached as a result of diplomatic efforts by the United States and other friendly countries and is considered a significant step toward regional stability.
Although no official statement has yet been issued by either country regarding this latest contact, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson is expected to brief the media in detail this evening.
It is worth noting that earlier, Pakistan had appreciated U.S. President Donald Trump’s interest and support for a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue. This conflict is regarded as a longstanding and serious threat to South Asia and beyond.
