The federal government has declared three holidays for Eidul Adha, one of the holiest days for Muslims, marked by the offering of sacrifices to purify their deeds and wealth.
Traditionally, holidays are also observed for the first two days of Hajj, which this year fall on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eid holidays will commence on Monday, June 17, the first day of Eid, and will conclude on Wednesday, June 19.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the holidays by endorsing a summary from the cabinet division.
In addition to the already planned weekend off on Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, Pakistanis will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on five different holidays.
