ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry has asserted that Pakistan was fully capable and ready to respond to any misadventure.
Addressing a weekly news briefing in Islamabad today (Thursday), the FO spokesperson said Pakistan’s armed forces remain prepared for misadventure and are fully capable of defending countries’ geographical boundaries.
Referring to the Kashmir dispute, he said Pakistan wants resolution of all outstanding disputes, including the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, with India through dialogue. “Onus is on India to create an enabling environment for talks,” he added.
Regarding Islamabad’s offer of relief support to New Delhi, Zahid Hafeez further said Pakistan has offered relief support to India as a gesture of solidarity.
Replying to a question on US Commission on International Religious Freedom report, he said Pakistan believes that the report’s findings on Pakistan lack objectivity besides making unsubstantiated assertions.
He said Pakistan’s Missions, all across the world, have standing instructions to extend maximum facilitation to the Pakistani community in their respective jurisdictions.
