Pakistan has extended its airspace closure for Indian aircraft for another month, with the updated restrictions taking effect from April 23, according to a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority.
As per the NOTAM, Indian-registered aircraft—both civilian and military—will remain prohibited from entering or transiting Pakistani airspace until 4:59 AM (Pakistan Standard Time) on August 24. This comprehensive ban includes commercial flights, as well as aircraft owned or leased by the Indian government.
This latest extension marks the third consecutive one-month renewal of the restriction, first implemented in April amid escalating tensions between the two neighboring countries.
The move came in the wake of India’s threats to unilaterally revoke the Indus Waters Treaty and accusations directed at Pakistan over the Pahalgam incident—claims Islamabad strongly denies. In response, Pakistan sealed its land borders with India and imposed a strict airspace ban.
Pakistan has since called for an impartial international investigation into the matter, insisting that peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved through unilateral actions and unfounded accusations.
