ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the upcoming federal budget will include measures aimed at providing relief to the public.
He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of prominent business leaders and industrialists, including Mian Mansha, Arif Habib, Atif Bajwa, Muhammad Ali Tabba, Musaddiq Zulqarnain, and Ziad Bashir, among others.
The prime minister said that the business community plays the role of Pakistan’s ambassadors and represents the country globally, adding that the government is grateful for their support during difficult economic conditions.
Shehbaz Sharif said that strong partnership between the government and the private sector is essential for economic growth. He added that consultation with the business community is an important part of policymaking, particularly in relation to economic reforms.
He further stated that Pakistan is moving towards an export-led growth model, which remains the central focus of the government’s economic policy.
The prime minister also said that steps are being taken to bring the informal economy into the tax net. He added that efforts are underway to strengthen business-friendly policies, which have helped improve economic stability and restore investor confidence.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the government is working to promote industries that increase domestic production and support long-term economic growth.
