PESHAWAR: The education department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has imposed a ban on taking photographs during any program held at the schools for girls.
The department said it decided after receiving complaints on the citizen portal. It also directed the administration of all schools to invite only women officers as chief guests.
It categorically stated that no one will be allowed to take photos during the events.
In previous years, administrations at various colleges and universities have been imposing restrictions regarding the dress code.
It is important to note that the province has long been significantly affected by Talibanization. The Taliban enforces strict rules for women and girls, attempting to impose these regulations in various parts of the province. However, the provincial administration has vehemently refuted any pressure from the Taliban to ban photography in schools.
