KARACHI: A group of unidentified men looted almost 300 oxygen cylinders and 100 water coolers from Sindh Government Hospital’s COVID-19 store in New Karachi.
According to details, the incident took place on October 22 at Sindh Government Hospital, where a group of men carried off hundreds of oxygen cylinders and water coolers in front of staff members.
A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at Bilal Colony police station over the incident. The complainant informed that the suspects had brought trucks and loaded the hospital assets.
However, according to the FIR, the district police caught four suspects on the spot while loading six oxygen cylinders on the truck, whereas, it emerged that the looters had already taken take away 300 cylinders and 100 water coolers.
The hospital administration tried to hide the robbery, according to reports. One of the arrested accused claimed that a person came to them in a vehicle to book a truck and loaders.
He added that the unidentified man cleared the truck at the hospital’s gate to enter its premises. The district police informed that raids were being conducted in different areas to arrest more suspects.
