The University of Oxford has graciously agreed to extend scholarships to students hailing from Balochistan through the Benazir Scholarship Program.
As outlined in a press release by the press secretary to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, this initiative aims to offer full scholarships to talented individuals from Balochistan, enabling them to pursue higher education at Oxford University, renowned worldwide for its academic excellence.
The overarching goal of this program is to ensure equitable access to high-quality education, thereby empowering the youth of Balochistan. This commitment was reiterated by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti during the annual May Dinner & Fundraiser at Oxford University’s Lady Margaret Hall.
He announced the launch of a new graduate scholarship specifically tailored to support deserving students from Balochistan in their pursuit of STEM subjects at the university.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s dedication to catalyzing educational transformation and empowering the youth of Balochistan. This endeavor is perceived as a crucial stride towards achieving educational parity and nurturing the next generation of leaders from the province.
Notably, the Benazir Scholarship Program stands as a pioneering academic venture, seeking to enhance the representation of Pakistani students and scholars at a prestigious global institution like Oxford University. Since its inception three years ago, it has evolved into the foremost academic platform outside Pakistan, dedicated solely to fostering Pakistani talent and facilitating their academic pursuits.
