ISLAMABAD: More than 381,000 Pakistanis have registered for Hajj between 2027 and 2030, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said the other day, as it urged intending pilgrims to keep their travel documents updated and avoid fraudulent advertisements circulating on social media.
In a statement, the ministry’s spokesperson said the registration process had entered its next stage and advised all prospective pilgrims for Hajj 2027 to ensure they possess a valid passport by November 16, 2027, a requirement for participation in the upcoming phase of the pilgrimage arrangements.
The latest figure indicates a further increase in registrations after the ministry had earlier reported that more than 340,000 people had enrolled for the upcoming Hajj, reflecting sustained public interest in performing the annual pilgrimage.
The spokesperson also cautioned the public against fake Hajj-related advertisements and misleading claims being shared on social media, urging citizens not to fall victim to unauthorised agents or fraudulent schemes.
“Intending pilgrims should ignore fake advertisements and report such elements to the relevant authorities,” the spokesperson said.
The ministry advised applicants to rely only on official sources for Hajj-related announcements, guidance and updates, including its authorised mobile applications and communication platforms, while disregarding unverified information and online propaganda.
Authorities said further details regarding the next phase of the Hajj process, including subsequent procedural requirements, would be announced separately through official channels.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has repeatedly urged intending pilgrims to complete all documentation within the stipulated timelines to avoid delays in the Hajj application process and to use only the ministry’s authentic digital platforms for information and assistance.
