KARACHI: A public convenience bazaar has been organized by Pakistan Central Muslim League Karachi in Gulshan Iqbal where all the essential items are being sold at special subsidized discounts.
According to the details, the convenience bazaar will operate from 9 am to 5 pm, from which thousands of families across the city can benefit. The public convenience market was inaugurated by Central Muslim League Karachi President Shehbaz Abdul Jabbar along with local officials and political and social leaders.
Talking to the media on this occasion, President of Central Muslim League Karachi Shehbaz Abdul Jabbar said that inflation has become a scourge for the country, and the nation and government actions are limited to paperwork only.
He said that no adequate steps are being taken to provide relief to the people. “We had announced to provide facilities to the needy,” he maintained.

President of Central Muslim League Karachi said, “Our promise has been fulfilled today. This bazaar is the first of its kind. No political party has taken such a step to date. We will eliminate corruption, lies, dishonesty, and immorality from traditional politics and turn politics toward public service.”
Abdul Jabbar said that he will expand the scope of public convenience markets in Karachi. “Before Ramzan, public convenience markets will be established in every town of Karachi to provide some relief to the people who are oppressed by inflation,” he added.
Jabbar, while talking about the projects started under the Pakistan Central Muslim League Karachi, said that the league has started a series of affordable bread ovens, where bread is being provided to the people at half cost.
He said that 50 more ovens will be installed in different areas before Ramzan. “The Pakistan Central Muslim League was the first to organize cheap vegetable markets. Seeing this, others are also moving ahead, which is a commendable act,” he further said.
In response to a question, Abdul Jabbar said that before Ramzan, illegal profiteering and hoarding mafia become active due to which the prices of essential commodities started touching the sky during Ramzan. He demanded from the government that artificial inflation makers and illegal profiteers should be removed before the holy month.
He further said that the political and ruling parties of Pakistan should put aside their fights and take the path of reconciliation to provide convenience to the people. “If not, the people will never forgive him. The prime minister should pity the people,” he maintained.
Shehbaz Abdul Jabbar said, “Government should provide relief to the people by ending the unnecessary expenditure of its management. “If you can’t control inflation, get off the chair and give way to an honest and service-oriented leadership,” he added.
Goods were provided to the public at a special discount in the public convenience market. A 10 kg bag was sold for Rs 1200 in the auto market. 550 liters of cooking oil market while 440 liters were sold to the public in the market. Dates, gram flour, pulses, sugar, vegetables, clothes for children and adults, and other items were sold at special discounts.
